Later generations of medical practitioners have also extended its use to treat disorders of the digestive and nervous systems, amongst others. This article provides a systematic review of the progress made in clinical and basic research on Yueju pill in the treatment of functional dyspepsia. Clinical studies have shown that Yueju pill can effectively alleviate the symptoms of functional dyspepsia whilst causing few adverse reactions; their mechanism of action is primarily related to the regulation of the gut microbiota and the brain-gut axis.
