Abstract

Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) caused by infection. Further development can lead to severe sepsis, septic shock and multiple organ dysfunction or failure. Gastrointestinal dysfunction is one of the common complications. Reviewing the domestic literature, it is found that in recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has accumulated a large number of clinical research data in the treatment of sepsis gastrointestinal dysfunction, and has achieved good results. This article briefly summarizes the etiology and pathogenesis of gastrointestinal dysfunction in sepsis and the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, in order to provide reference for further clinical research in the future.
