Abstract

Chronic renal failure represents the ultimate outcome of various kidney diseases. Clinically, treatment approaches for this condition are categorized into Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) methods. This study will systematically review Western medical diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, alongside traditional Chinese medicine perspectives on pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation, treatment modalities, and integrated approaches. It will summarize commonly used Western medications for chronic renal failure alongside clinical applications of Chinese herbal extracts, formulas, and external therapies. By synthesizing prior research, this work aims to clarify the advantages of integrated medicine, offering additional clinical guidance and insights.
