This article summarizes the clinical experience and academic ideas of Professor Shen Shuwen, a renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner in Shaanxi Province, in using Zhisou San to treat cough. Zhisou San originated from the book "Medical Insights" written by the Qing Dynasty physician Cheng Guopeng. It is a commonly used and effective formula for treating cough. Professor Shen Shuwen, based on the idea of "light prescription removing pathogenic factors" and following the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine, cleverly used Zhisou San to treat cough, with significant clinical effects and distinct characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine. Exploring the clinical experience of famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in using Zhisou powder to treat cough based on the theory of "light prescription removing pathogenic factors" is beneficial for inheriting the clinical experience and academic ideas of famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.
