Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by dysregulated host response triggered by infection, and its high incidence rate and mortality pose a serious threat to global public health. C-reactive protein (CRP) and albumin (ALB) are useful indicators for assessing the severity and prognosis of sepsis. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has unique advantages in the treatment of sepsis. Recent studies have shown that TCM can regulate CRP and ALB levels through multiple pathways, improving patient clinical outcomes. This article systematically reviews the research progress on the effects of TCM intervention on CRP and ALB in patients with sepsis, aiming to provide theoretical basis and clinical reference for the treatment of sepsis with TCM.
