Abstract

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease that seriously endangers the health of the middle-aged and elderly people. The main clinical manifestations include motor symptoms such as bradykinesia, static tremor, and myotonia and non-motor symptoms like constipation, mental disorders, sleep disorders, and autonomic nervous dysfunction. Its etiology and pathogenesis have not been fully understood, and the clinical efficacy is not satisfactory. By searching the relevant literature in China and abroad in recent years, this paper summarized the etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment of PD in both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine as well as the integrated TCM and Western medicine treatment.
