Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) refers to the stage between the mild decline in memory and thinking abilities that occurs during normal aging and the more severe cognitive decline seen in dementia. The early diagnosis and treatment of MCI is its golden period for prevention and has significant clinical and practical significance. Due to the complexity of the pathogenesis of MCI, Western medicine can only improve the symptoms of patients to varying degrees or delay the progression of the disease in clinical practice. In recent years, with the development of research on the treatment of MCI with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the impact of TCM drugs and non-drug therapies on the cognitive function of the elderly has attracted widespread attention in the academic community and achieved certain progress. This article reviews the research progress of TCM drugs and non-drug therapies for MCI.
