Glaucoma is a chronic eye disease characterized by progressive optic nerve damage and visual field defects, and is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. It requires long-term intraocular pressure control and self-care from patients. Self-efficacy reflects an individual’s confidence in their ability to persistently complete disease-related management behaviors and plays an indispensable role in the long-term care process of glaucoma patients. This article systematically organizes the multiple factors influencing self-efficacy levels in glaucoma patients, covering sociodemographic characteristics, disease-related features, psychological status, and social support environment. It also summarizes effective intervention strategies that have been proven domestically and internationally, providing reliable evidence and feasible ideas for developing more targeted nursing strategies in clinical practice.
