Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized pathologically by synovial and vascular inflammation. Its onset is often insidious and frequently involves multiple systems. Due to the abundant connective tissue and vascular structures in the lungs, RA most commonly affects the lungs and often secondary interstitial lung disease (ILD), which severely impacts patient prognosis. Currently, there is a lack of standardized clinical protocols for treating RA-associated ILD (RA-ILD), and in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice, there is inconsistency between syndrome patterns and disease progression. This article reviews the progress in integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment of RA-ILD, and explores the clinical efficacy and modern pharmacological research of Magui Jiangcao Wenfei Yin, aiming to provide a reference for future clinical management of this condition.
