Abstract

Air conditioning syndrome, as a high incidence disease in summer, is categorized as “summer dampness” and “dryness” in traditional Chinese medicine. Based on the theory of Ying and Wei in the Huangdi Neijing, this study proposes that the core pathogenesis of the disease is the imbalance of Ying and Wei, which leads to the internal invasion of wind-cold, summer-dampness and dryness. It is suggested that in addition to evidence-based treatment, special attention should be paid to the care of the middle jiao.
