Abstract

Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune disease with diverse etiology and complex pathogenesis, with common co-morbidities such as inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroiditis, diabetes, anxiety and depression. Recent studies have shown that intestinal flora and psychological stress have an important impact on vitiligo, and its possible realization of the “gut-brain-cortex axis” has become a research hotspot, providing a new direction for the treatment of vitiligo. In this paper, we summarize the progress of research on the link between the gut-brain-cortex axis and vitiligo.
