Abstract

This paper summarizes and analyzes the origins of caretaker talk, how caretaker talk with unique linguistic features is defined, and the contributions that caretaker talk makes to children's early language acquisition. The results suggest that caretaker talk can make children adapt to their cognitive ability and mental state, which is helpful for children's understanding and generation of language.
