Abstract

The rapid expansion of short video platforms, in both user base and application scenarios, has positioned short video as a pivotal medium in news communication. It has become not only a strategic tool for traditional media to establish presence in the new media landscape, but also a core component of their broader communication matrix. Against the backdrop of an increasingly integrated media environment—characterized by the convergence of traditional media with online platforms and mobile terminals—this study examines the developmental trajectory of short video communication. Taking the People’s Daily micro-video series China One Minute as a case study, this paper analyzes the transformative impact of short video on communication paradigms and the journalistic field, and further explores its prospective evolution.
