Abstract

Upanishads are late Vedic and post Vedic Sanskrit texts that document the transition from the archaic ritualism etc., Etymologically Upanishads means in Sanskrit “Sitting near” (i. e. at the feet of the master) from upa ‘near’ + ni - sad (sitnear).
