New Quality Productivity and the Realization of Common Prosperity

This paper focuses on the two development strategies of new quality productivity and common prosperity, and uses panel data from 30 provinces and cities in China from 2012 to 2022 to conduct an empirical test on the relationship between new quality productivity and common prosperity. The study found that the development of new quality productivity can promote the realization of common prosperity. Among them, increasing investment in scientific and technological innovation and improving the quality of public services play a mediating role. In addition, “making the cake bigger” is the prerequisite for new quality productivity to achieve “dividing the cake well”; “dividing the cake well” is conducive to the new quality productivity to further “make the cake bigger”.
