Cultivating the Craftsman Spirit in Higher Vocational Engineering Students under the New Engineering Education Framework

Abstract

In response to the Ministry of Education’s New Engineering Education (NEE) initiative, this study examines how higher vocational institutions can effectively cultivate the craftsman spirit among science and engineering students by leveraging their practice‑oriented curricula, industry partnerships, and skill‑based training models. It contends that systematically embedding professional ethics, meticulousness, and continuous self‑improvement into both theoretical instruction and hands‑on practice is essential. This cultivation process is expected to enhance vocational education quality and underpin China’s socio‑economic stability and innovation‑driven development.
