Abstract

Maintaining clean heat exchangers is essential for ensuring product quality and safety in the confectionery industry. This article compares three essential cleaning methods: ultrasonic cleaning, heat treatment, and chemical cleaning. Each technique offers unique advantages and limitations, ranging from ultrasonic cleaning's ability to reach intricate geometries to chemical cleaning's targeted removal of specific fouling. Considerations such as effectiveness, application, cost, complexity, and compatibility guide stakeholders in selecting the most suitable method for their needs. By understanding the distinct characteristics of each technique, confectionery manufacturers can make informed decisions to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and uphold hygiene standards.
