Abstract

Improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings has been widely recognized as one of the key measures to mitigate our impact on the ecological environment, although it is also seen as a highly challenging task. This study focuses on the energy-saving renovation design practice of the Engineering Department Building at the Federal Institute of Technology Akre Campus, as a case study for in-depth analysis. During the research process, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted on the energy efficiency of various energy consuming equipment within the building. Unfortunately, it has been found that most of the components currently in use cannot efficiently meet the energy needs of buildings. The research conclusion emphasizes that developing and implementing renovation standards for existing buildings will bring significant benefits.
