Soft rock exhibits prominent creep characteristics in foundation engineering, which are prone to induce deformation and instability of engineering structures. Taking the soft rock in the foundation of a power plant as the research object, this paper systematically analyzes the creep mechanical behavior of soft rock through field in-situ load tests and laboratory uniaxial compression tests. Based on the Burgers creep model, the creep parameters under different load levels are obtained via fitting, and the characteristics of instantaneous elasticity, decelerated creep and steady-state creep of soft rock are discussed. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the evaluation and design of long-term foundation stability in similar engineering projects.
