Selecting the optimal construction method is critical for balancing financial efficiency and project timelines in civil engineering. This study compares the cost‑effectiveness of conventional masonry versus precast concrete construction through a mixed‑method approach: an explanatory literature review and an exploratory budget comparison based on updated data from a real‑world project, including modeling of costs and execution schedules using Excel. Results indicate that precast construction offers superior time efficiency; however, stage‑specific cost variations necessitate a granular analysis to determine the overall optimal choice. These findings provide practical guidance for project managers and decision‑makers in selecting construction systems that align with project‑specific financial and temporal constraints.
