The rural revitalization strategy is advancing. Meanwhile, the digital economy is deeply integrated into agriculture. Under these dual drivers, efficient agricultural supply chains are vital for high-quality sector growth. However, high logistics costs and waste rates remain major bottlenecks in China. This study examines how digital technologies enable supply chain development through logistics cost optimization. It analyzes the theoretical logic, current challenges, and potential solutions. The goal is to provide a reference for policy and practice. Digital transformation faces several constraints. These include weak infrastructure, poor data coordination, and low digital literacy among stakeholders. To achieve cost reduction and efficiency gains, targeted measures are necessary. These involve strengthening infrastructure, building data ecosystems, and improving stakeholder capabilities. A supportive policy system is also required. Such actions will promote the integration of the digital economy with agriculture. Consequently, they will facilitate the digital transformation of supply chains and support rural revitalization.
