Research on the Path to Enhance the Leadership of Middle-Level Cadres in Vocational and Technical Colleges

Abstract

Middle-level cadres serve as the core hub in the organizational operation of vocational and technical colleges, and their leadership level directly affects the quality of education and teaching as well as governance efficiency. However, current issues in role positioning, competency structure, training mechanisms, and incentive systems among middle-level cadres in vocational and technical colleges significantly hinder the effective exercise of leadership. Based on a systematic review of leadership-related theories, this paper adopts a “problem diagnosis + solution construction” approach to deeply analyze the current status and challenges of middle-level cadre leadership in vocational and technical colleges. It proposes a systematic enhancement path from five dimensions: clarifying role positioning, optimizing competency structures, improving training systems, refining incentive mechanisms, and strengthening institutional safeguards, aiming to provide theoretical references and practical guidance for the development of management teams in vocational and technical colleges.
